The Makers

Lash ~ Experimental Artisan
I love experimenting with various materials when refinishing, leaving
the final result up to the last coat of paint, dye, or stain. Breathing new life
into ordinary furniture can instantly add character to your space and spark
ideas for future projects. I believe there's beauty in the everyday, and that art
should be present in all aspects of our lives—whether we're working, living, or playing.
I like to uncover its potential by playing with colors, adding unique details, and
truly showing how much I appreciate it. While I restore, refinish, and repurpose
for my own enjoyment, I also hope others find inspiration in it—or maybe even
fall in love with it too.
I received some valuable advice on finding joy in life, especially after experiencing
the loss of friends, family, and a few other challenging life events. So let's make the
world a bit brighter or better and allow functional "things" to be more beautiful.
Lace ~ The Starter
I am a true believer in doing what makes you satisfied. I’ve always been someone who leads with heart more than knowledge, in just about any subject it seems. I usually have some idea of what I want a project to become, but my real love is antiques—getting to restore them, repurpose them, and find the hidden shine underneath an item is incredibly satisfying. My love for “restoring” came from the women in our family. I grew up watching how they made things work—shaping something to fit a space, and if it didn’t turn out the way they wanted, they simply started again. Sometimes things just click, sometimes you start over, and some days you just wait for the right inspiration.
In 2016, I spent a few days at NEWFR with a friend, and what began as a hobby slowly became… maybe an obsession. I am a very busy wife and mom of four who works a couple of different part-time jobs, each challenging in its own way, so everything I spend time on is done with intention. What started as a desire to learn more about chalk paint morphed into a love for rehabbing antiques, and has now developed into a passion for finding challenges—those “what if” moments. If you’re starting to see a theme, I’m sure my husband would agree with you.
I’m not all that concerned—or even sure—about specific goals or dreams. I’m more focused on learning new things, enjoying the challenge, embracing the lesson, and turning something into a craft, usually by accident, but often enough that it has become a process worth reflecting on.
